Pilot Training Manuals vs the POH: How They Work Together
October 27, 2026Before there was a CJ series, there was the original CitationJet — the C525, first delivered in the early 1990s and the direct ancestor of every CJ variant we’ve covered elsewhere on this site. It’s still flying in meaningful numbers today, and owners of early C525s are often surprised how much documentation demand still exists for the aircraft that started the whole line.
Where the CJ Family Began
Textron Aviation continues to build on the Citation platform the original CitationJet established, and much of the systems logic that shows up in later CJ variants traces back to design decisions made on the C525. That makes original CitationJet 1 documentation useful not just for current owners, but for anyone studying how the CJ family evolved.
What We Carry
We stock the complete two-volume FlightSafety training set for the original CitationJet: Citation Jet 1 (C525) Pilot Training Manual Volume 1 and Volume 2 – Aircraft Systems. Together they cover normal and emergency procedures alongside a dedicated systems deep-dive.
Comparing the C525 to Later CJ Variants
If you’re researching how the original CitationJet compares to its successors, our Citation CJ Series Manual Guide breaks down the documentation differences across the CJ2, CJ2+, CJ3 and CJ4.
See the full CitationJet and CJ documentation set in our Business Jet category, or contact us if you need help confirming which volume matches your aircraft’s serial number range.
