A Family, Not a Single Aircraft

Textron Aviation markets the Cessna Citation line as a full family of jets rather than one model, and the CJ series is the clearest example of why that matters for documentation: each CJ variant carries its own FAA type certificate, which means its own approved AFM, its own limitations, and often its own dedicated training material. You can confirm the exact type certificate holder and model data for any variant through the FAA’s official Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS) lookup.

CJ2 (525A) vs. CJ2+

The original CJ2 and the upgraded CJ2+ share an airframe but differ enough in avionics and systems that FlightSafety produces separate training manuals for each.
